Response to ONS on Changes to the Draft SOC Extension Framework

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) consulted with stakeholders in December 2022 on changes to the extended SOC framework.

Enginuity responded with strong support for the improvements in the revised descriptions for Engineering and Manufacturing, which are accurate and go a long way to capturing the high-level detail of each associated occupation. The proposal to provide greater clarity for ‘Not Elsewhere Clarified’ data, including N.E.C for Engineers, was particularly valuable.
